Sweet Potato Sampler (Free Shipping)

Sweet Potato Sampler (Free Shipping)

Why settle for one color or flavor when you can grow the full sweet-potato rainbow in a single season? Our best-selling sampler packs together three outstanding LSU releases that look, taste, and cook completely differently — perfect for market growers, chefs, or anyone who wants orange, purple, and white sweet potatoes from the same garden. Sampler contains a mix of the three varieties in 12, 25, or 100 slip (plant) quantities.

What’s Inside

  1. Purple Majesty  The deepest, most vivid royal-purple flesh on the planet with rich, nutty, chestnut-like flavor and sky-high antioxidants. Stunning baked, mashed, or turned into purple fries that stop traffic at the farmers’ market.
  2. White Bonita  Creamy-white flesh that stays snow-white when cooked, with a mild, slightly nutty, less-sweet taste — think “Yukon Gold meets sweet potato.” The #1 choice for savory dishes, tempura, gnocchi, soups, and anywhere orange would be too sweet.
  3. Covington The gold-standard orange sweet potato: beautiful rose skin, deep-orange flesh, perfect sweet-moist texture, and unbeatable classic flavor. Exceptional yields, great storage, and the variety that made North Carolina famous.

New to Growing Sweet Potatoes?

This sampler was created just for you.

  • Three completely different colors and flavor profiles from one planting
  • All three are high-yielding, heat-tolerant, nematode- and fusarium-resistant LSU varieties
  • Uniform maturity (100–125 days) — dig them all at the same time
  • Huge market appeal: you don't need to pick a favorite color or flavor; you can pick three!

Simple Growing Instructions

  • Plant after all danger of frost when soil temperatures reach 65 °F+ (mid-to-late spring)
  • Full sun and loose, well-drained soil (pH 5.8–6.5); raised beds or ridges work perfectly
  • Space slips 10–18 inches apart (12–15 inches is ideal for maximum marketable size)
  • Rows 36–48 inches apart (fits nicely on 42–48-inch beds)
  • Bury roots and lower stem nodes 3–4 inches deep, leaving leaves above soil
  • Keep evenly moist until established, then moderate water — tolerates heat and short dry spells
  • No hilling required — sweet potatoes set roots along the vine
  • Harvest in 110–130 days when vines begin yellowing (dig before heavy frost)
  • Cure 7–14 days at 80–85 °F and high humidity, then store at 55–60 °F

100% Non-GMO: Purple Majesty is a traditionally bred LSU cultivar. We ship only certified, virus-tested, non-GMO slips produced using organic practices.

Ships beginning to mid-June as vigorous, bare-root slips ready to explode with growth. Grab your Purple Majesty slips now and grow the most gorgeous, antioxidant-packed sweet potatoes your market or kitchen has ever seen!
